Voice Description
I have a deep, intriguing voice that speaks "just to you" for narrations.
A fun, light character voice for commericals or a voice that evokes trust and intelligence for professional reads.
I have also, studied voice acting and can do all sorts of characters...mad at the world teen, harried house wife, knowing teacher, loving supportive mother, or flirty girlfriend.
I specialize in all types of Southern accents...Mountain Mama or Southern Belle.
For audiobooks I can read Shakepeare, be an action female sleuth or a young southern girl finding her place in the world.
I am a "voice chameleon" and communicate well with all my clients to get just the right read for any project.
Experience
I am celebrating my 10th year of being a nationally syndicated public radio host.
My radio show is called Women in Music with Laney Goodman and is being heard on over 90 markets each week.
I have an international audiience with my PodCasts...Divalicious and FemFrequency...
I have been onair talent for over 18 years and have worked a the following radio stations:
WXPN-FM- Philadlphia, KRSH-FM- Santa Rosa, CA, KRCB-FM/TV- Rohnert Park, CA and currently at WUMB-FM- Boston
I have hosted shows like Sleepy Hollow- eclectic mix of relaxing music, Roots of Jazz, Home Grown- Folk, After Dark- Progressive Rock and World Rhythms.
I voice and produce commericals, underwriting spots, calendar announcements and speciality programming for Halloween, Christmas, Love Songs, St. Patrick's Day, Black History Month, Women's History Month and Earth Day.
I have worked on voice over projects with WBZ's Jordan Rich at Chart Productions in Back Bay, Boston and some of our clients were Putnam Investments, Pastene Pasta and NESN.
Training
I studied Performing Arts and English at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA
I have performed in over 15 stage productions from Classical Greek plays in college theatre to Earth Onion's Street theatre in Washington, DC
I have honed my craft at the radio stations I mention above....from onair talent , engineering, editing, and voiceover talent, to script writing and research.
And, I am currently working and studing with Jordan Rich at Chart Productions... where we are producing my voice over and audiobook Demo
Additional Skills
I am a singer and musician, I play percussion, blues harp and woodwinds.
I have a great ear for melody or harmony and can sing jingles or any song that is needed for commericals.
I have worked as a Club DJ in the dance clubs of Philadelphia, San Francisco and Boston.
And, I currently have a moblie DJ business and spin at weddings, private parties and street festivals.
I have my own home recording studio to provide a quick turn around for recording projects.
